BACKSTOP · MISSED CONTACT CAPTURE FOR SMALL BUSINESS
Nobody answered.
Somebody still will.
Backstop catches the calls, texts and emails your team did not get to, tells the customer a person is coming, and escalates by name until one of them picks up.
Calling sends you one automated text back. One message per call, message and data rates may apply, reply STOP to opt out. Messaging Terms.

THE REALITY
The call you missed is already calling someone else.
A person who cannot reach you does not wait. They go back to the search results and call the next name on the list. It never shows up in your books, because a job you never heard about cannot be counted.
01 · THE PHONE WINS
You are on the other line, out on a job, or it is ten past six.
The call rings out, and nothing anywhere records that it mattered.
02 · THE SILENCE COSTS
The caller hears nothing back.
They decide you are not interested and call the next company on the list.
03 · NOBODY FINDS OUT
There is no report of the customers lost this way.
So the problem never reaches your desk, and it happens again next week.
WHAT BACKSTOP IS
One quiet system
that refuses to let go.
Three things working together. It notices the miss, it holds on to the customer, and it keeps going until one of your people has actually replied.
01 · IT NOTICES
Nothing rings out into nowhere.
Calls, texts, emails and web form messages are watched together. When one goes unanswered past the wait time you set, a clock starts.
- · Works alongside your existing number, which stays published and stays yours.
- · Your business hours are yours, so the clock does not run overnight.
02 · IT HOLDS THE CUSTOMER
The caller hears back in seconds.
An acknowledgement goes out saying a person is coming and roughly when. That is usually enough to stop them dialling the next company.
- · One message in plain words, not a bot trying to hold a conversation.
- · They can reply and say what they needed, so you know before you call.
03 · IT WILL NOT LET GO
It escalates until a human answers.
Your named staff are texted in the order you choose. If the first does not respond it moves to the next, and it keeps going.
- · Every contact is logged with how long it took to reach a person.
- · A weekly summary tells you what was caught.
TRY IT YOURSELF
Call it and see
Call the number below. Nobody will answer, on purpose. Within a few seconds you will get one text message back, which is exactly what your own caller would get.
Before you call
By calling (971) 366-4775 you are asking us to text you back, and you agree to receive one automated text message from Backstop at the number you called from. You are not signing up for anything else.
- One message per call. Calls are limited to three per phone number per day, so you cannot get more than three messages from us in a day.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
- This is a demonstration. Nobody is going to call you back, and we never send marketing, offers or promotions to your number.
- Agreeing to this message is not a condition of buying anything from us.
Full details are in our Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy.
The message you will get, word for word
Thanks for calling, and sorry we did not pick up. A real person will call you back within 30 minutes. If it is easier, just reply to this message and tell us what you needed. This is a demo from Backstop, backstopline.com. Reply STOP to opt out.
The middle sentence changes outside business hours, so the callback time it promises is always one we could actually keep.
WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT
Set up by the person who built it.
Backstop is not a call center, and it is not a subscription you configure yourself. It is set up one business at a time, by hand, by the person who wrote it. When something needs changing you are talking to him, not opening a ticket.
One at a time
Every deployment is set up by hand for that business.
Month to month
No contract, no minimum term, thirty days notice either way.
First 30 days free
If it catches nothing real in that time, the monthly fee never starts.
WHAT'S NEXT
One job today, built to hold more.
Backstop starts by catching what your team missed. The same system is built to take on a few more things from there, each one using your own numbers and your own words, the same way the core product does. Nothing below is sold yet. It is here so you know what a deployment can grow into.

A tenant's repair gets the same follow-through.
Routes a maintenance request into the same clock and escalation as a missed call, so it doesn't sit unanswered either.
A reply drafted the way you actually talk to customers.
Drafts a response to a new review from your own notes. You read it and post it yourself, nothing sends on its own.
A price estimate from your own rate sheet.
Drafts an estimate when someone asks what something costs. A person reviews it before it goes out.
Want this on your own line?
Tell me your number and roughly how many calls a day you take. If it is not a fit for you I will say so.
WHO RUNS IT
Backstop is built and operated by Waldenary, an independent software studio run by Eddie Larsen. Questions can be sent to eddie@waldenary.com.
